NovaPACS Makes Going Filmless Quick and Easy

NovaPACS understands that time is money. Our unique installation process is designed for today's fast-paced hospitals by resolving compatibility and hardware issues up-front to minimize downtime and integrate your PACS as quickly and efficiently as possible. The entire process can be completed in less than one month. In most cases, we can move as fast as your schedule allows.

Step 1: Site Analysis
(average time: 2-3 days)

The site analysis allows us to see what you have and what your ideal PACS should include. We meet with the head of radiology and head of information systems to determine a number of key factors, including:

  • Current image load
  • Number of radiologists on staff
  • How many and what types of modalities you have
  • What type of network and Internet connection you have
NovaPACS then uses this information to determine how many workstations you need and what hardware will be required to deliver the PACS that meets your hospital's needs.

Step 2: Pre-install Checklist
(average time: 2-3 weeks)

Once the site analysis is complete, NovaPACS will issue a pre-installation checklist, that will give detailed instructions on what your radiology department and information system department needs to do to prepare for installation. This checklist not only ensures a smoother installation of hardware, it drastically cuts the amount of downtime required for the actual installation. Upon completion of the checklist, an installation date will be scheduled, and the necessary hardware will be prepared.

Step 3: Installation
(average time: 2-4 days)

On the scheduled installation date, NovaPACS will arrive with all software pre-loaded. This allows us, in most cases, to simply plug in the equipment and begin testing it. Minor adjustments are then made to ensure that it integrates properly with all modalities and your hospital's network.

Step 4: One-on-one Training
(average time: 2-4 days)

With NovaPACS your radiologists get one-on-one training in their own work space to ensure they understand. Our on-site technicians will train your radiologists one-on-one on their own system to ensure they understand exactly how to use the PACS. And while our technicians are there to answer questions for several days, most radiologists are comfortable using the system after just a few hours.

*Typical installation times are for NovaPACS only. NovaRIS installation schedules vary by customer.
